Filmmakers & Film Enthusiasts Invited to Inaugural Frankfort48 Film Festival
FRANKFORT, MI (May 18, 2017) - Aspiring filmmakers are invited to Frankfort, Michigan from June 22-24, 2017 to take part in the inaugural Frankfort48 Film Festival. Participants will be tasked to create a short film celebrating the beauty and character of northern Michigan.
Participants will have 48 hours to conceive their ideas, scout locations, film, edit, and present their finished films. Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top three filmmakers. Judges for the event are esteemed filmmakers and actors with film experience.
Early bird entries are $60 prior to June 1 and $75 after. All competitors will attend a Frankfort48 Kickoff Meeting at The Garden Theater on June 22 at 9am to learn details and rules for the competition. Five criteria, which must be included in each film, will be revealed at the meeting.
The public is invited to attend a screening of the films and awards ceremony, happening Saturday, June 24 at 8pm at The Garden Theater in downtown Frankfort. Tickets to attend are $10 each and can be purchased at the theater’s box office on the evening of the event. Tickets to a pre-screening party at 6:30 pm will also be available for purchase.

About the Garden Theater
The Garden Theater, located at 301 Main Street in downtown Frankfort Michigan, was originally built in 1923 and renovated beginning in 2008. The Garden shows first-run, independent and foreign films, and is home to the annual Frankfort Film Festival.
