Food For Thought, producer of an extensive line of artisanal organic and all natural preserves, sauces and salsas has opened their first retail location at the Long Lake Culinary Campus, just outside Traverse City - also the site of their new production kitchen and farm. The Food For Thought “Company Store” (7738 N. Long Lake Rd., TC, 49686) will be open Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 4 PM, or by appointment for special events and food tours.
Food For Thought was founded in 1995 on an organic farm located in northern Michigan in the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and over the years has been steadily expanding their line of gourmet foods. Recipient of the “Good Food Award” for their Organic Blueberry Lavender preserves and also the Organic Great Lakes Pear preserves, Food For Thought maintains a commitment to low sugar/more fruit preserve recipes, and a focus on intentional ingredients sourced locally whenever possible, across their handcrafted, small-batch product line.

In addition to being the new home of Food For Thought, the Long Lake Culinary Campus (LLCC) will serve as a collaborative food hub for growing food businesses in the Grand Traverse area, as well as offering general office, educational and non-profit lease space. An Open House will be held at LLCC on Thursday, October 4, from 5 - 7 PM for community partners and prospective lessees. Stop in and see if LLCC is a good fit for your business!
