Versiti Blood Center of Michigan
Founded in 1955, Michigan Blood is an independent, nonprofit, community service organization that is the provider of choice for blood and blood products for hospitals throughout Michigan. Serving Michigan hospitals first is the top priority for Michigan Blood, which collects more than 120,000 units of blood each year thanks to the generosity of volunteer donors. Michigan Blood has 9 permanent donation sites and more than 3,700 mobile blood drives statewide. In addition to its blood donation program, Michigan Blood offers a number of different services, including a cord blood bank, marrow/stem cell program, transfusion medicine consultation, transplant center support, and other programs.
